All these years we never get it right. )

Until next time, whenever that may be. ♥

Photo update. :D

From last semester though. My self-portrait project I never managed to post all of.

3 images - 702x822 (BIG) )

I also updated my Seven Deadly Sins project with my final image. Hehe. You can see those here. WARNING for large images. Those are 750x975. :/

Need to catch up on the flist.
& My thoughts and condolences are with everyone who was affected by the earthquake in China this morning. I hope everyone is safe. ♥

Enter Chaos )

My previous pinhole photo post can be found here. These images are a triad.

Things have been worked out with my photo teacher. I really have so much love for her and she gives me a lot of encouragement for my work. She'd much rather me be able to make good work and develop my ideas rather than rush to get a project done just because. For her I am grateful. :)

Sorry for post-whoring so much recently.
And I know I said I was going to step away from the internet, but this is my stress relief aside from listening to music. An addiction I can't overcome. ♥

So much loss has happened in recent days. Tragedies all of them, some the result of accident and some the result of unnecessary hate. I send my condolences to everyone that has been affected by these losses and hope that no more precious lives are taken from us. ♥

Photo update from last semester. Only 6 out of 7 of the Deadly Sins. Because I only just managed to get my last one back from Deb a week or so ago and haven't been arsed to take a slide of it. These aren't the best slides either, but they'll do for now. Hopefully I'll remember to bring them and take better slides at school or just steal the ones Deb took.

Narrative/Sequence: 7 Deadly Sins )

I probably won't be around much in the coming weeks. 4 weeks of classes left, 3 photo projects to work on all at once, a term paper to write, stories to read, and tests to prepare for. Not to mention I'm broke as hell and won't be able to do anything more than just go to school and be home. :/

Le sigh.

Just two images that I'm pretty sure I'm going to use as final prints.

Bigger. )

I hope it's not too big to view. :/

So instead of spending my weekend enjoying Mardi Gras with friends and family, Friday afternoon my photo teacher decided to throw us an assignment. We had to build 3 cameras and test them for Monday. So I ended up spending Friday and Saturday building and testing my cameras. D: It was fun for what it's worth, but I would have rather been doing something else. Like being in NO with Pattie and Elise for the parades.

Needless to say I have a few pictures of the 5 cameras I built and tested out. I'll have some negatives to add in later this afternoon because I still have to manage to go to Thibodaux to develop everything and hope that it actually worked.

My five cameras under here. )

EHB epi 12 awaits! Bwhahaha.

I will be back later this afternoon to edit this and add to it. I got stuck in parade traffic. DDD:

Til then. ♥

So, it has been a very long time since I've made a real photo post but that's because I've been too busy working on it all to get anything posted here.

Right now I'm working on my final project for Intermediate photography I. The project is for a sequence/narrative and I chose to do the Seven Deadly Sins as I have been wanting to do so since I took beginning. Samantha [ profile] angel___wings was my model and I really was very happy with how they all came out. :)

I don't have any final prints of the images as I haven't quite gotten to the final stages of presentation but I do have an overview of the basic images I'm creating. Because of the way I'm presenting them and their size, I can't get any good scans of them but I will definitely take some photos / slides of them when I'm done.

So, on to the WIP. )

These are just scans of my proof sheet but are kind of what I want to go for when I start printing this week. Infrared film is wayyy different than shooting digital infrared and of course I screwed up my roll while loading it. Loading on the metal reels is very tricky because if you put too much pressure on one part of the film it bends and/or goes onto the same track as the previous bit of film. And it sticks together, ruining that part of the film. Luckily, I managed to not stick all of my film together and saved some of the images. Though, come to find out I was still underexposing and the focus was a bit off. But for the nature I'm going with for my self-portrait the sharpness isn't really a necessity.

Click to see the first draft images. )

I developed my second roll today and it came out; it wasn't dry before I had to leave school but I do know that it isn't ruined. Heh. I developed it in a plastic tank and wrapped some aluminum foil around the bottom just in case there were any IR leaks. I'm going to pop in there tomorrow and see what I have and hopefully this roll will be better to use than my first.

Ah well, I guess I should go work on studying for biology and get some English work done.

Gacked from [ profile] miserianocturna since she's the most recent person to post this.

Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in/curious about - it can be anything from the house I live in to my favorite shoes. Leave your choice here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an LJ entry. That way you get to know a little bit about my life.

Request a photo of any part of my house, wardrobe, daily life, pets, ANYTHING!

This is not a formal picture request. If you wish for artistic insight / fine art type photography, then go check out my photo meme. Yes, I am still working on those requests as they take a lot more time than something simple like this.

Sorry I've not been commenting much. I've been caught up in a lot of stuff going on recently and with my friend Robert moving to California this week, I've been trying to spend as much time as I can with him. I'm still reading everything, I just don't have much to say so I chose to say nothing.

That's all I've got. Ta. ♥

I've always been told that I have a very intense stare and expressive eyes.

I'm inclined to agree when I look through past shoots that I've done. I can tell my own emotions just by looking at myself. I see it -- the emotion bubbling right at the surface.

Can you see it -- the anger, hostility,
The hatred consuming me? )

Nearly two years ago my emotions were chaotic. Irrational anger, sadness, pain consumed me at any given moment. I'm glad to say that I've managed to get away from that. I feel like a better person; no longer am I happy on the outside and full of despair on the inside. I'm balanced and calm; though the echos of that madness haunt me from time to time, I have control over it and no longer allow my emotions to dictate me. It's an amazing feeling to finally feel free.

I think I'm going to open up my photo meme again. I need something to occupy my free time and make me think instead of slaving away in front of the computer every day. I'm still looking for a job but I'm not so worried about it anymore. If it happens, it happens. Call me a vagabond all you wish. I still have requests to work on from the previous batch and as soon as I go back and see what those are I'll start working on them again. I need to get my creative juices flowing again. :D Anyway, that's it for now.

Comments and concrit appreciated as usual.

One more scanned print from my final project in Photo.

Oh, it's big too -- about 600x900 but it's not a large file.

Broken Home )

The speedlight is due for delivery tomorrow.

And now I have to go read a short story for English. D:

Comments and crit welcome.

So, I spent 9 hours in the darkroom yesterday. D:

I got to school a little before 9:00 AM and didn't leave until 5:00 PM. I got 4 final prints done. That's 1 print every 2.25 hours. I have to go back today and spend another 4+ hours getting one more final print, fixing another print, and mounting everything for Monday. If I don't finish, then I'll be going to school SUPER EARLY on Monday to get my prints mounted before crit at 1:00 PM.

Here are four out of five prints. Again, they aren't the greatest quality because I had to take pictures of them.

Project: Final - Organic Debris )

I also have a shot of my Colour Counterchange project from Design 251.

Here little Snidget. )

Comments welcome.

I am looking at at least three As to bring my GPA back up. OMGSOHAPPY!

Thanksgiving yesterday.

I got up at like 8:30 in the morning to go over to my mom's house early to help with the cooking. Well, when John and I got there no one was around. Hmmm. Robert was outside cooking, mom was in the shower, and Christian was still sleeping. :O Now, if I would have known all this I would not have even bothered to get there two hours prior to having lunch. She also did not make the requested coffee for me, so I had to...err...figure out the coffee pot on my own. Haha. We ain't going there. Actually no, it came out fine and very tasty.

Well, we were supposed to have lunch at 12:00. No one showed up until after 1:00. WTF is up with that. I think that if my lazy, non-morning person arse can get up early, then everyone else can get to the house on time. John and I were so bored and so hungry. We ended up snacking on Nestle dark chocolate morsels. o.O So serious. We eventually got to eat. John, Christian, and I jumped on the food. Everyone else slowly trickled in to eat. I was so so full, but for whatever reason could not stop eating all the dessert junk they had. D: We spent the rest of the afternoon laying in the yard in the nice sun and I was playing with a burnt log they had. I chipped the charcoal parts off and brought them home with me. Yes, I know I'm weird. STFU. John also faced his fears and climbed the tree in the yard. I have a bunch of pictures from that that I need to post. Hah. But for now you'll only get a few (and some general family pics).

18 pictures be here. )

Anyway, blah, blah, turkey, blah. We went home when everyone was playing basketball outside because John had to be up at 3AM to go to work for Black Friday. I went to bed as he woke up at 10:00 that night. Poor thing.

Woke up again this morning at 8:30. My mum called me to get me up so we could go shopping this morning. We weren't in any need of MUST HAVE THIS MUST CAMP OUT. That's a bit extreme for anything really. I managed to snag the last 1GB Compact Flash card for my camera as they were on sale from $70 to $14 and I mean, hey, that's a damn good deal. I did miss out on a 2GB flash drive for $12 but I'll live. It didn't take too long to check out at CC and after that we headed to the mall (oh god). People need to NOT take their BABIES shopping with them on Black Friday, for srsly. I got some really comfortable suede slip-ons for super cheap. And my mom bought all kinds of stuff from Kirklands for Christmas and one present for her friend. We hit up Big Lots and got nothing from there then to Old Navy where we hit the jackpot. I got three new jacket/hoodie/pullovers (one I have to bring back because it's too small -- but it's the same size and stuff as my other hoodies from the same and my mom got a pullover, velour suit, and some shirts from there. We ended up we shopping instead of Christmas shopping. Oh well. Lowe's for outdoor lights, back to the mall for brother stuff. And then finally, FINALLY we made our way to Samurai Dragon only to find it's closed until Monday because they are renovating. Fuckers. It's going to be nice; they're putting in a kotatsu, moving the hibatchi bars to the back, etc, but GODDAMN I WANTED SOME CHINESE FOOD. So, we ended up going back to the house to eat leftovers (3:00 -- five hours later). OHGODSOGOOD. And I spent most of my night over there (and hooked up the wireless router).

I just finished watching Return of the King (Extended Edition) and I think I'm going to bed now. I have lots of stuff to get done tomorrow and Sunday before school again on Monday. I feel like I've wasted my week because I got damn near nothing done for school, but I've been so busy doing other stuff it seems. OMG. I don't know what life would be like if I actually had an active social life or one period. I'll be spending a good chunk of Sunday at school developing the 4-6 rolls of film that I've shot so far. We'll see how that goes. GOOD NIGHT. ♥

To the photo meme.

I have been working on it, I promise. Some of them may take me a little longer than others. I'm still trying to come up with ideas and how I'll work them all out.

So far I've gotten all but two done. Keep an eye out on this post for more updates. It's staying a sticky for the time.

[ profile] anonymous1327 requested a picure of a thingy. o.O
Well, I guess it's a thingy... )

[ profile] clichemonet requested a picture of a boy laughing.
Caught unawares. )

[ profile] swimming_fish requested a picture of a pretty faerie cake.
(I'm still working on this one. Lighting set up and I need to bake them!)

[ profile] madeleneg requested pictures of something blue, black, pink, and yellow.
Something black, pink, blue, and yellow... )

[ profile] boberto518 requested a picture of a silhouette (or something geometric).
Geometric. )

[ profile] heyu1021 requested a picture of a white trash trailer park.
You can't get much more white trash than this... )

[ profile] spellingwitch requested a picture of a café.
(As soon as I visit one, I'll try to get this one down. :P)

[ profile] janahanabanana requested a number of things to be chosen from.
(As soon as I choose, I will start on this one as well.)

This has been put on hold but you can still add your request. These are not going to be coming out all fast though, so please keep your request ... reasonable. I only live in Louisiana, kids. :P

Oh and thank you all for the birthday wishes. They made my day. ♥

Thanks for your participation, guys! ♥

Opening up again, for a short while.
Please keep your requests relatively do-able.
I'm no professional nor do I have access to a lot of
the wonderful things that a lot of northern areas provide.

August, 31, 2007 - CLOSED.
I honestly just do not have the extra time to commit to this right now.
I do apologize for everyone who has had a request waiting for over a year.
I will try to get to them all eventually but I don't hold hope that it will
be happening anytime in the near future. When I do get to your request, I
will inform you and send a link to where it has been posted. I hope your
patience hasn't run out and if you forgot about it, then it may be a nice
little surprise for you to find again. Heh.

Tell me what you'd like to see a picture of, and I'll take it!
Look at it as "in the daily life of" sort of thing.

ETA: You guys are killing me. D:
